Lissira's Drabbles that happen to be mainly romance sorry

I have a Ao3 account where I post these here, so it's a bit cleaner: https://archiveofourown.org/users/cheeseboard
I'll post any drabbles [100 words exactly, each] I write in separate posts with the appropriate connecting media [game, show, etc.] listed beforehand
But they'll mainly be Final Fantasy XIV related so there's the warning

Pairing: Warrior of Light/Haurchefant Graystone
Her eyes fluttered open. Sheets were soft against her bare skin, and the quilts piled on top kept the Coerthan cold at bay. Sunlight filtered through the thin curtains. She was warm, and so was the person beside her.
Her face flushed as she peered up at the Elezen she was curled next to – still sound asleep. An arm was protectively wrapped around her, as it had been all night. She watched his sleeping face with a look of wonder.
Soft.
She reached up to trace his jawline, when his eyes slowly opened to meet hers. She didn’t move away.

She paused, a tidal wave of emotions passing over her – sadness, relief, pain, exhaustion, and also-
- Love.
She took one step, then two, moving forward even though her legs felt like they would collapse any second. She reached out to the Miqo’te, hand hesitant, before finally forgetting her apprehensions. She grabbed his shoulder and pulled him into an embrace.
Her voice was barely above a whisper, her throat still burning from the overabundance of light that had been suffocating her.
“’Tis good to see you awake, G’raha Tia.”

Something warm pooled near her stone-scraped knees.
Her eyes were wide, glassy, staring straight ahead of her - unfocused.
She clutched desperately at a now-cold hand. Her body shook, but she didn’t know why.
She remained like that for what felt like an eternity.
Suddenly there was warmth on her shoulder – a strong hand. Yet she couldn’t avert her gaze.
They were speaking, but their words were just waves crashing against a rocky shore.
Another had joined them, and they reached to pull her away.
She resisted. She fought. She screamed.
She pleaded.

She felt something warm fall on her cheek.
Her eyes were glassy and heavy-lidded. Still she tried to focus on the person above her.
She shakily reached out to touch his face, to wipe the tears away from his eyes.
Beautiful ice blue. A smile tugged at the corners of her blood-tinged mouth.
“I apologize,” she rasped. “I…”
A gloved hand brushed the hair out of her face. Gentle words hushed her.
Closing her eyes, she took a shuddering breath, desperately trying to fill her lungs with air.
“Please,” she pleaded softly, “Don’t go.”

- They sat alone in the Ocular, the glow of the crystal walls softly illuminating their features.
“I’m sorry.” She broke the comfortable silence.
The Miqo’te tilted his head curiously. His gaze urged her to continue.
“Every time I think about what you’ve had to do, what you’ve lived through… What you’ve lived for. What you’ve given up… I get overwhelmed inside.” She smiled at him, a sad sort of smile. “I’m sorry you had to go through so much.”
He reached his hand over to meet hers, and his eyes sparkled in the dim light.
“I did it for you.”

Notes: Because I feel like my warrior of light would have a lot of scars at least
His slender fingers traced across her skin, paying special attention to every scar.
She purposefully avoided looking him in the eye.
Some of the Warrior’s scars were shallow and faded, while some were still deep and fresh and ugly.
“I don’t know why you’re so interested in them,” she murmured, a hint of cynicism in her voice.
He hesitated for only a moment. “Why wouldn’t I be?”
“They’re just…” Gross. Hideous. Unsightly. She could think of a lot of things to call them.
“They’re part of you.” The Elezen pressed a kiss against her hair. “And I think you’re beautiful.”

First time I read these I skipped over the part where it said pairing and I guessed from the writing who Alessia was paired with I got them all right.

The words are somewhere between a whisper and a snarl.
She feels her heart racing – her hand clenches into a fist, nails piercing her palm.
“You… You…!”
Shock. Grief. Rage. Her emotions reflect in her eyes, one after another.
The Garlean prince took joy in this display.
“Of all people… how is it that you get the chance to come back?!”
They appear in her mind’s eye – Moenbryda, Haurchefant, Ysayle, Papalymo, everyone…
“It’s not fair…”
Tears stream down her face.
“I won’t let you continue living when they can’t!”
